Low-slope Roofing
Built-up + modified
Modified asphalt and multiple plies rank these as the longest lasting low-slope systems
Long-lasting modified asphalt
Modified asphalt roofing systems, also known as modified bitumen, have gained popularity over the last several decades because they can be installed with cold adhesives and torching to create a water-tight seal.
While on the higher end of the cost scale, the application of asphalt and use of multiple plies rank these as the longest lasting low-slope systems.
Stronger components extend roof life
Plastic polymers such as atactic polypropylene (APP) promote stability and resist tears, and rubber additives such as styrene-butadiene styrene (SBS) promote elasticity.
Safety first
The industry has moved away from traditional 3- and 4-ply roofing systems utilizing hot asphalt or coal tar pitch due to safety and health concerns. Today’s cold and hot applied modified asphalt systems are safer to install, help move water off the roof, and help prevent leaks.
Single-ply
Single-ply systems possess the greatest market share among low-slope roofing systems
Single-ply roofing is more popular than ever
Starting with the widespread growth of rubber (EPDM) in the 1980s, popular single-ply systems now include heat-weldable plastics (PVC and TPO) and currently possess the greatest market share among low-slope roof systems.
These single-ply systems are usually installed with adhesives, but can also be mechanically fastened and ballasted.
Single-ply roofing:
- Promotes a long-lasting, water-tight seal
- Increases stability and strength
- Reduces potential maintenance issues
- Improves lifespan of the roof
Coatings
Install coatings over your current system to add 20 additional warranted years
Reduce costs + increase warranted years
Elastomeric and reflective coatings are an excellent choice for extending the life of your current roof system. The addition of reflectivity reduces cooling costs and UV degradation, and a wide range of chemistries can be installed over your current system to add as many as 20 additional warranted years.
Types of coatings:
- Acrylics
- Polyurethanes
- Silicones
- Asphaltic tar
- Coal tar
Pavers
Transform roofing areas into accessible decks, terraces and balconies with concrete pavers
Rooftop decks, terraces + balconies
Concrete pavers on adjustable pedestals help transform roofing and waterproofing areas into accessible and attractive decks, terraces and balconies.
These durable solutions are available in a wide range of colors, styles and thicknesses to suit the unique needs and design of your project.
Concrete pavers:
- Provide improved drainage
- Protect from the elements
- Provide a highly functional rooftop space

Vegetative
Vegetative installations vary from pre-grown containers to full onsite installations
Go green with a “live” roof
Aesthetically attractive and energy efficient, vegetative roof systems also help manage storm-water runoff and insulate the underlying roof and waterproofing systems from weatherization.
Depending on the growing media and plants they support, the installations vary from pre-grown containers to full onsite installations.
Vegetative roofing systems:
- Improve air quality
- Provide insulation
- Conserve energy
- Control storm-water
- Extend roof life
- Protect from UV rays
Waterproofing
We specialize in hot applied, self-adhered sheet waterproofing and pedestrian traffic coating products
Improve structural integrity with waterproofing
Grove Roofing’s specialization includes hot applied, self-adhered sheet waterproofing, and pedestrian traffic coating products.
While typically regarded as only a below-grade application, waterproofing is also found in various above-grade forms such as floor slabs, plaza decks and planters.
